Abstract
With the global emphasis on entrepreneurship, universities in Taiwan have launched entrepreneurship management courses to guide students to in understanding entrepreneurial concepts. However, identifying the specific factors that influence students' willingness and behavior to start businesses remains a critical issue. Focusing on micro-entrepreneurship, this study compares two theoretical frameworks: the Expanded Theory of Planned Behavior (ETPB) and the Expanded Entrepreneurial Intention Model (EEIM). The study surveyed 105 university students majoring in hospitality management in southern Taiwan who were enrolled in entrepreneurship management-related courses. The results indicate that within the ETPB model, subjective norms have a significant positive impact on entrepreneurial behavior, whereas in the EEIM, entrepreneurial alertness is the primary driver. Notably, the study finds that the EEIM demonstrates relatively higher explanatory power. These findings offer valuable reference points for educational institutions seeking to foster student entrepreneurship.
